Tara Guelig is The Lightsmith Group’s Director of Sustainability & Impact. She designed the firm’s approach to measuring impact and ensures that ESG issues are considered at all stages of the investment process. Previously, Ms. Guelig spent 15 years at U.S. Development Finance Corporation (formerly known as Overseas Private Investment Corporation) where she originated investments in the financial services, logistics, climate finance, impact investing, and agribusiness sectors. Tara was a Managing Director in the Office of Investment Policy responsible for ESG related risks in the portfolio. She has extensive field experience, having conducted due diligence, monitoring and evaluation visits in over 40 countries. Tara has worked for the IFC, CARE International and more recently the Biden- Harris Transition Team.

Ms. Guelig holds a Masters in Finance from the Carey School of Business at John Hopkins University, a Masters in International Development Studies from the Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University, and a B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
